Honestly people. If the news keeps you motivated and inspired, then it's good. If you suspect it's false news, then let it motivate you to find the truth. I'm of the opinion that becoming cynical and defeatist is an absolute GIFT to the oligarchs/psychopaths. The BEST way to fight them is to fight with love in your heart, protect your loved ones, live fully, freely, with joy and resilience.
It doesn't really matter how bad it gets. I want to go out of this world living a life that affirms all that is sacred and good, not as someone who threw in the towel because it seemed hopeless. Even if just a few of us survive, let them be the most loving, compassionate, fierce, honourable and disciplined among us. Take down as many evil doers as you can before they take you down. Just don't become one of them.
Defend your beloved, protect all that is sacred. Never forget to feel reverence for the mystery of life and the necessity of persisting in the face of unimaginable adversity. As a survivor of cancer, twice, one of 6 women in my family in the last 15 years, I can attest to the fact that we are MUCH stronger than we think. I lost my younger sister and mother and I thought I would die with grief. I didn't, clearly. But what got me through was the love of family and friends who never gave up on me. It's my turn now to support others who need to be reminded of why we're here.

I know love is real, and good. I spent two hours in the pool today with 3 of my granddaughters, age 5, 8, &10, and we just talked and played. We smiled and laughed, talked about school and boys and trips to the zoo and shapes in the clouds. We decided we wouldn't want to be a spider for even a day but a couple days as a bird would be fun. It was a perfect day. Their future, and our future, is worth fighting for.

I think this misinterprets the counter-narrative. It's not 'all part of the psy-op.' I’ve lately be challenged by Corrie Ten Boom’s sister who thanked God for the fleas in their prison camp mattresses. Corrie couldn’t understand why, but in attempted obedience to the biblical command to be thankful in every circumstance (not FOR every circumstance, but IN THE MIDST OF every circumstance), she too thanked God for the fleas. They later realized that fleas meant fewer guard patrols would come into their barracks, which meant the women had greater freedom to associate w each other, to pray, and for Bible study.
Yes, celebrate what we can while continuing to fight what else we can. May God make us strong and help us.
For me, it depends on what qualifies as 'news.' My favorite band is releasing a new album? Freaking fantastically great news! My friends are thriving and happen to be coming through my neck of the woods? Also freaking fantastically great news! Garbage in the television? Almost never good news BUT I never watch that stuff anyways, so .......
There absolutely IS an organized effort to infiltrate and disrupt us, demoralizing and distracting. That's been their standard operating procedure for a looong time.
You are so right. I was going to touch on this very thing on my next blog. Well done. It used to a conscious effort to search out the bad stuff and now it is all we see. The good is well hidden behind stories of such shallowness or evil that a concentrated effort is required to put our collective finger on it. We need to make the good a deliberate way of life. Enjoy everything that God has given us and put around us. Life is what happens when we are not looking. Just because everyone else is miserable doesn't mean we have to jump on board. I firmly believe that the right and the left heap loads of bad news on us, skewed to our political leanings and if we focus on it all the time, we miss the good stuff right in front of us. Life is what you make it. Choose wisely for we only go around once. If we chose to focus on the chaos and news that might or might not be true, then evil has surely triumphed. Be bigger.
Good news is hard to come by so I think we know it when we see it. If we interpret it as good news, then it must be. It is so rare, it stands out. It is becoming more common, so that is good news.
